glass... as somebody had told me.

KONG. Water and Fire. One year later the atypical pneumonia
would appear in Hong Kong. Doctor Tsui Sze Ho finds humidities in Javier and in
me... fire.

During the day, the vision of the city from The Peak is impressive...

other day, ' the man of the roses' was with Melissa in Javier's birthday dinner
party.

WHAT DID I BUY IN... What
did I buy in Hong Kong? well... jade disks of immortality (as
the one in the
etching ' Objects of the Desire III' but in a smaller size)

ONCE AGAIN. Black on top of
black. Yes, these crosses are for (all?) the dead in the Iraq war.

ONCE AGAIN. White.on top of
white. Blakes hotel,
room 21. A little rest to see live the fall of Saddam's statue...

ONCE AGAIN. Red on
top of pink. No, these flowers are not for the dead in the Iraq
war.

WHAT DID I BUY IN...
What did I buy in Amsterdam? well... Stroopwafels
( typical cookies) to give as a present (before
having a look around the Rijksmuseum).
12 - 04 - 03:
MADRID:
MY OWN AND OTHER PEOPLE'S WARS. I have never
been to Cuba... neither I plan to go while Fidel is there. (Which will be
the slogan that will inspire students to rally for freedom in that country?)
13 - 04 - 03: MADRID:
MUSIC. The painting I'm working on ('Greed' from the Signs of Extintion series) has among
others, the music by Mina that Javier gave me.

EVERY DAY. Order, in the morning. (At
the breakfast table)

managed to get me the same sun glasses as the ones I lost when returning
from Amsterdam. (The changes... only when I want them).

Hermosilla - Paseo de la Castellana. (Going with Carlos to see some
exhibitions)

EVERY DAY. Disorder, in the afternoon.

VISIT. On Good Friday, Melissa came to
finish a paper and said goodbye
, (before going back to Paris).

more wooden structures (from Ikea) to keep more
paintings organised.

ARRIAZA. Traditions... bla, bla
bla, I eat 'torrijas' because I like them.
21 - 04 - 03: MADRID:
ARRIAZA. Uncle Tomás sends to me all that
appears (about me) in the Galician newspapers.

VISIT TO. Long and difficult the path chosen by Fernando Y. in this society that rewards mediocrity and cultural
submissiveness.

VISIT TO. Although I like dogs, I have never had one. Nico, that of Eduardo A. is very
friendly.

ITALY. SALINA. A discovery, the traditional architecture with the
eolian column (Pulara)... that already appears in several of
my paintings.
25 - 04 - 03: MADRID:
ONE YEAR AGO IN...
ITALY. SALINA. Luca and Laura took us to see the sunset from the house where
'The postman and Pablo
Neruda' was filmed. It was wonderfull.

ITALY. LIPARI. The rock where
the castle is located reminds me the paintings by A. Böcklin on “The island of the
deads”
27 - 04 - 03: MADRID:
ONE YEAR AGO IN...
ITALY. VULCANO. The bathing in the sulfurous
mud was a bit disgusting because there was not a place to take a shower later...

ITALY. STROMBOLI. In those days the omnipresent volcano was sleeping. I was frustrated because I didn't
climb to the crater at night (three hours marching in the dark).
29 - 04 - 03: MADRID:
ONE YEAR AGO IN...
ITALY. STROMBOLI. The recent eruptions will possibly have
damaged the hotel where we stayed and from whose windows we could see the Strombolicchio.
30 - 04 - 03: MADRID:
ONE YEAR AGO IN...
ITALY. CATANIA. Still some peacefull places in this oppressive
and enough destroyed city.
